Dear John Henry Steenhuissen

First of all, Congratulations are in Order as I only learn recently that you have, well deservedly been appointed the Minister of Agriculture .

I have deliberately juxtaposed this email over a plethora of emails I wrote spanning 3 years of pleading to various private and government heavyweights including the following, successively: Mr Nzimande (Agric Office, Butterworth), Various Provincial Directors and Chief Directors (Provincial Agric), Dr Bese (Chairperson Agric Portfolio, Bhisho Legislature), Minister Thoko Didiza and the Office of the Presidency to no avail.

I therefore in 2021 turned to your organization by writing Mr Ndlozi, Mr Gadi and Mr Malema PAs.

Why Approaching the You? You may Ask.

However, the reason I am turning to you is the open secret that all of us know, THE ANC GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED US.. As an early pensioner whose professional contract was not renewed at WSU in 2017, I dedicated my time and soul to business and theology studies which all demand my total and undivided attention, whilst my heart is entirely where my wife’s is politically.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back is the response I received from the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC)’s Mr Athenkosi Mpayipheli saying they have declined our application for extremely flimsy reasons, including that our field requires bush clearing first ( How could it not, when last tilled in the 1980s under Matanzima?), despite the overwhelming evidence of viability, its history, and that we have an ‘Off Take Agreement’ in place.(than response can be forwarded to you on request).

I am one of the people who have observed your organization DA making numerous successful interventions on behalf of the poor and the downtrodden. I personally will never forget, amongst many others, when your organization intervened in the WC and can't wait for that to spread to EC

Please take time from your busy schedule to read the Business Plan/ Project Proposal attached hereto accompanied by my own 20-year efforts to revive the Zibhityolo Community Project, asking for just R7,3 m, this after we have cut down from a whooping R115m.

Your usual prompt response will be highly esteemed, especially that my people are even threatening to boycott all future elections as the Daily Dispatch article of 25 March 2017 (also attached hereto) dubbed us, ‘The Forgotten Village’.

For any additional information and/ or clarity, please do not hesitate to contact the writer at 079 491 6580 or 060 879 2675 or my wife Slokazana at 079 276 8369 or fellow Business Partner Mr Mzwamajama Gqirana (also copied) at 068 478 2886 or 082 754 6887.

Future replies will be published here.
