Mr Mackenzie
A motivational writing for consideration for bursary and/or loan
I hope this letter finds you well sir. We are currently students at Walter Sisulu University, pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase year2 (B. Ed FP). We writing to you, to formally appeal for consideration in financial assistance for year 2025,our 3rd year as that will support us finish this second NQF7 qualification maybe by the N+ rule because we’ve rightfully exhausted 3yrs.
We are graduates from the WSU Diploma Adult and Community Education and Training, NQF6 (ACET), a qualification we value dearly. However, we have faced significant challenges in securing employment due to the nature of our Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experience, that primarily focused on DBE schools rather than DHETs (CETC) Community Learning Centres . This experience has left us ill-equipped to enter the job market, as the practical exposure required for professional development was inadequate. The Faculty management as of early this year 2024, tried to correct their wrong by accrediting us for admission to B. Ed FP year 3, but later adjusted their decision and admitted us year 2 that had early ran with a crush course of year1 academic content. As a result, we find our in extreme need of financial aid to continue and complete our studies, work toward a brighter future.
We are 35 registered under self funded students, coming from very humble different backgrounds, and the financial constraints faced so far and towards our year of completion 2026,are overwhelming. Families are with limited financial resources, making it increasingly difficult for us to cover tuition fees, essential study materials, and basic living expenses. Despite these challenges, harsh means of settling at B.Ed. rather they have deeply anchored our commitment to education and future career in teaching.
Walter Sisulu University represents my only hope for a successful future. We are a group of passionate, resilient educators who will assuredly inspire and empower young learners. We want nothing more than to attain this degree so that we can serve back our communities effectively and help break the cycle of poverty through education.
We respectfully request your consideration of our appeal for financial assistance. Your support would not only alleviate our immediate financial burdens but also empower us to focus entirely on our studies and personal development.
Thank you for considering my request. We appreciate your time and understanding, and hoping to hear from you soon.
Sincere,
Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase year2’s
