Good day Dr Nzimande

Last year we applied for an internship that was advertised at MSC Business College looking for FET graduates, we then applied and our applications were successful. Due to COVID 19 we started the internship end of July and we were placed in one of the Retail stores in Durban, the problem that we are facing non of us was placed in their field of study as they stated what qualifications they wanted on the post and the fact that we were applying for Internship not Learnership.

Some graduates are placed in stores PR graduates are packing fruit and veggies, HR packing meat other counting stock some are even cleaning the floors, we have few Interns placed at Headoffice but non of them are doing what they suppose to do. They have their staff resigning and force interns to take the positions whether it's your field of study or not they will tell you that "you don't have a choice".

The first week we were placed we did complain to our Provider and He would just ignore our messages and calls, some interns had issues that they can't handle anymore they would ask to be moved atleast to another store but they will ignore, some of these interns have decided to quit some are not placed and our provider is aware of that too.

We did our research as we thought maybe we are the one's who doesn't understand the term Internship when it comes to W&R SETA, we went through their website and noticed that the term Internship and Learnership is explained exactly the way we know it should be and what we are doing here is Learneship not internship.

Kindly assist us as this issue is affecting our future our parents have sacrificed a lot for us to be where we are, we cannot even add this experience on our CV's. Not even a single day a member from SETA nor our Provider came to check how we are doing it's more like he abandon us for the fact that he doesn't even respond nor show interest in our issues.
