Dear Minister McKenzie,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of the parents of the Western Province under 15 Rugby Team, who are set to participate in an upcoming tournament in Johannesburg.

As you may know, this tournament presents a valuable opportunity for our young athletes to showcase their skills, gain experience, and represent our region with pride. However, many of us parents are facing significant financial challenges that make it difficult to support our teams traveling to Johannesburg. The majority of these players come from disadvantaged communities in the Cape Flats, and unfortunately, this means that their families are unable to afford the journey.

There is a deep concern that without parental support in the stands, our players may not perform at their best, which could impact their experience and confidence. We have made efforts to raise funds to assist with travel costs, but unfortunately, we have not been able to gather the necessary resources in such a short time.

We are reaching out to seek your assistance in any form, whether it is financial support, resources, or guidance that can help us ensure our teams are supported during this important tournament. Your assistance will not only uplift the spirits of the players but also instil a sense of unity and pride within our communities.

Thank you very much for considering our request. We greatly appreciate any support you can provide to help these young athletes achieve their dreams. Most of the parents will attend the capping ceremony on Wednesday 18 September 2024 at the High Performance Centre Auditorium in Newlands.
