Dear John. While the country is furiously trying to lockdown in order to prevent the spread of Covid19, it makes no sense that people are being denied access to water when they have not paid their bills!! we are in a state of emergency and water is required for handwashing!! please please please get the water restrictions lifted until we have stopped Covid19!
in the township of western cape, people cannot stay in their houses if they have to go out in search of water!! many meters are broken/burst too so even people who are in a position to pay are not receiving water! in a pandemic, access to water is not a luxury, its a necessity! please get govt to deal with this as a matter of the most utmost urgency!!
if govt cannot get WDM technicians to repair meters fast enough, there are companies (such as SAB and affiliates) who are possibly in a position to help with water supply by relooking at the plans that were in place for Day Zero!! please please help our townships so that we can all adhere to lockdown and defeat Covid19!!
