Dear Mr Thembelani Waltermade Nxesi
I am writing this to voice mine, as well as l'm sure many other people's dissatisfaction with regard to the turnaround time from the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
I have applied on the 27th January 2023 and have still not heard any feedback on my Unemployment Benefit Claim. Further, from what I have read regarding public dissatisfaction, there are some people who have waited a year to receive this money.
People who are claiming from the unemployment insurance fund, including myself, are desperate people, most without any other form of income. Therefore this money should be a lifeline from the following month, where you have been sitting without a job and have not received pay for that month, yet you still have bills to pay.
I can only assume the Unemployment Insurance Fund was created to help people who had lost their jobs, soon thereafter (As this would be the time when they would most need that money). Therefore I ask;
"How does it help any person to only receive that money 3,4,5 or 6 months later when it is already too late, and people have lost their homes, lost their cars, have no food, have no electricity, sold everything they have and possibly turned to crime out of necessity and desperation in order to survive?"
There is a serious problem with the Unemployment Insurance Fund, which needs urgent and drastic remedies in order to uphold their own policies and legislation regarding this matter. Therefore I urge you to please address this problem as a matter of urgency.
Should you read this, I appreciate your time taken to address this matter.
Kind Regards
Chris Wakefield
