Dear Ms Creecy , Please seriously consider giving pensioners a discount on their vehicle licence. Pensioners already receive such a little , and with the current economic situation in this country ,it is virtually impossible to able to validate the high cost of the vehicle licence.
Pensioners needs to have a vehicle for Dr's appointments , hospital visits and shopping.
They are not frequent road users as those who are working.
Also the risk factor, hijackings etc makes us use the roads less.
You can put T&C 's in place , eg
1. the vehicle must be registered in your name .
2. Must be over 65 yrs
3. only one vehicle per pensioner
4. Must have a valid drivers licence. ( to prevent fraudulent activity)
Please consider my request, as I am speaking on behalf of many retired people .
