Good day

Im writing this email to request your immediate intervention in relation of gross misconduct, unconstitutional, unethical and dodgy KZN department of Education who has failed to transfer section 21 no fee paying schools funds.

This really compromised and disadvantage those poor black schools who relied on government subsidy or grant to do day to day operations. As we speak 89 schools under Ilembe District in KZN are suffering running schools without funds from the department as per policy. These school are now left in dark by Municipalities since they failed to pay services including water which some already shut down by Municipality.

These school were supposed to received funds in June 2024 in order to pay for municipality services, purchases of teacher support materials such a photocopying papers, inks? Master rolls to run exam papers. Some school forced to terminate contract of SGB paid educators, SGB paid security guards and cleaners. Some received summons from service providers for owing them for more than 90 days. The situation is terrible and the KZN spokeperson Muzi Mahlambi is no where to be found, the kzn office of the premier seems to neglect principals concerns.

The provincial treasury dont give answers why KZN department of Education every year failed to transfer norms and standards to schools as it mandatory and this situation compromising the quality of teaching and learning culture in the province.

Last year the department failed to transfer funds for LTSM Procurement to school and some principal went for hiding for their safety since they placed orders to services providers as per policy and submitted paperwork to the department of education and it was unpaid.

Learners textbooks and stationery for school based procurement delivered in late February due to failure of the DOE KZN to transfer funds to schools in order to place orders.

Please kindly intervene.

Thanks.
