Dear Mr Schreiber
I am writing to you with a heavy heart, seeking urgent assistance for our mother, Bomkazi an elderly pensioner with no Social or family support , ID number 550520********, who is currently in the United Kingdom. She holds leave-to-remain status but is facing severe health challenges, including the early stages of dementia and significant mental health concerns. Her condition is deteriorating, and she is struggling to cope alone in a foreign country.
Despite multiple hospital visits in the UK , the healthcare system has reached its limits in providing the necessary support. Unfortunately, she is unable to renew her expired passport, which is preventing her from returning to South Africa. Given her vulnerable state, we are desperately seeking an emergency travel document to facilitate her safe return home.
Bomkazi dedicated many years of her life to serving in the UK’s healthcare sector NHS , yet she is now without the support she desperately needs. We have attempted to seek help from various UK agencies for senior citizens, but our efforts have been met with little success. Each day, she calls us in distress, and we are at a loss for how to proceed.
We do not want to face the heart-breaking reality of having to repatriate her remains when there is still a chance to bring her home safely. We are pleading for immediate guidance and intervention from the relevant authorities to help us navigate this process.
Please let us know what steps can be taken to secure emergency travel documentation for her as soon as possible. We are keeping a record of all correspondence as we pursue every possible avenue to ensure her safe return.
With access to calls via WhatsApp our communication with her is not sufficient as what we discuss she forgets or is not done, but constantly getting calls from her crying out for help to us, which has also lead us to have anxiety and panic attacks.
We appreciate your time and any assistance you can provide. Please advise us on the next steps at your earliest convenience.
Yours Sincerely
Thubelihle
