Dear Mr. Leon,

I trust this message finds you well.

I am writing to you as a frequent user of the Lebombo border crossing. Over the past weeks, I have observed a massive increase in the number of travelers crossing between Mozambique and South Africa. Unfortunately, this congestion has resulted in long queues under extreme heat conditions, where people including children, elderly individuals, and those with health conditions are often left waiting for several hours without basic comfort or adequate shade. This situation raises humanitarian and health concerns.

I am reaching out to you in your capacity as an authority capable of addressing this matter and kindly appealing to your leadership, sense of responsibility, and humanity. Many travelers rely on this border, especially during the festive season, and the current conditions have become distressing and avoidable.

Additionally, I would like to respectfully draw attention on the BMA counters, where at times only one or two passport control booths are operational. This contributes significantly to delays, and unfortunately, travelers frequently report poor customer service experiences.

With this message, I would like to request that the situation be reviewed and that appropriate measures be implemented to improve efficiency, safety, and dignity for all travelers particularly during this peak travel period.

Your timely intervention would greatly improve the experience for thousands of people and reinforce the professionalism and responsiveness that the public expects.

Thank you in advance for your attention and consideration. I remain available should further information be needed.

Warm regards,
