Dear Thembelani Waltermade Nxesi,

I am writing to you in hope of assisting tens of thousands of South Africans struggling with finding employment.

In fact, it goes beyond this; I seek to eradicate prejudice and discrimination in the workplace caused by the nefarious device called the polygraph.

Every year, tens of thousands of South Africans get rejected from companies because they "failed" their pre-employment polygraph. I can name 5 big companies that use polygraph examiners on a massive scale. This pseudoscientific device is well known to be manipulated to the fullest extent by its operator. This unscientific method allows the Polygraph examiner to "pass" or "fail" whoever they please based off their prejudice/bias.

I want to see regulation on this device on behalf of all South Africans, as there are currently companies that use this device to reject individuals from employment, withhold their commissions/incentives and cause friction and discrimination in the workplace, as people have been indoctrinated into believing that this junk science device is truly capable of detecting lies. In 1988 President Ronald Reagan banned the use of the polygraph in the United States. The use of the device in the private sector has been prohibited ever since.

If we can follow suit, we can curb unemployment and stop the stigmatisation of honest individuals in the private sector.
