Dear Shadow Minister Bozzoli
I hope that this email finds you well.
I know that you are a very busy woman, but I want to appeal to you for your assistance on behalf of my husband, Trevor:
He is a returning UNISA student.
He was an NSFAS beneficiary in 2017.
Last year he passed all his subjects.
This means that this year he should be funded through NSFAS.
Minister, my husband registered for his studies on 4 January 2018.
Today, 2 May 2018, he is still waiting for NSFAS to pay his fees.
Four months is a long time to stress about funding. He cannot concentrate on his studies and is unable to buy textbooks because we cannot afford them. He is writing his first examination on 11 May. He will have to to do so without having referenced a textbook.
Minister, I appeal to you to assist my husband. He is very anxious to obtain textbooks and begin studying in earnest and is worried that NSFAS will derail his attempts to further his education.
I have written to Minister Pandor thrice, but her office has not responded.
Minister, I know that there are thousands of students right now who are experiencing the same at the hands of NSFAS. I appeal to you to take a personal interest in my case and intervene on behalf of my husband.
Please help Trevor. I beg of you.
