Hi Dr Mzimande,
I am writing you this message with sadness and pain in my heart I was retrenched last year in 2020. My son stays with my mom who is a pensioner he applied for Nsfas funding last year between July or October 2020 and submitted all necessary documents as we were told at work that they will be retrenching.
He went to phomolong Secondary High he applied last year with Wits University and the University of Johannesburg but they sent him rejection sms's stating that they have declined his application due to space constraints. I feel this is not fare TUT did not even respond to him. I don't have money for him to register in a private Institution. On the other hand all the Universities in Jhb have closed their undergraduate application. What must we do if they have been rejected should our children take year gabs and stay in the location and end up entering into criminal activities. I am a girl from Umthambeka in Tembisa were there is a lot of criminal activities and pear pressure. I have cried myself to sleep seeing my son crying every day. In South Africa if you do not have money you are useless. I hate not having funds to send him to school. I hate that I was retrenched. What will all those matrics who passed do? my son did pure maths and Physical Sciences it is not fare our children will commit suicide. They struggled enough during their matric year and now they are also struggling to get accommodated in our society and schools. All the high class society children have been accommodated in Universities atleast they can afford school funds while the poor class is excluded. Please assist me sir for my son to be accepted in any University and find accommodation My name is Cindy Selowe Mabaso and my son's name is Bhekimuzi Edwin Mabaso I'd number 0211095123082 and his student number is 8204001380050 he passed with a bachelors degree and University entrance but has not been accepted regardless of all our efforts.
Sir I would appreciate your assistance.
Kind Regards
Cindy Selowe
