My name is Silindokuhle from Mtubatuba. My family relocated to kwaMsane Township in 1991. We have been since experiencing drought, our streets are gravel, our street lights are broken, to mention the few.
uMkhanyakude Municipality promises to come up with solutions every time we hold community meetings. We currently have been without water for the whole month as the community yet we are being summoned to courts for not paying rates.
Today on the uMkhanyakude IDP meeting, Deputy Mayor swore that our township, KwaMsane, is still going to be without water because we do not pay rates.
I am edging the Commander in Chief to intervene and find a way of coming up with solutions to being denied access to our basic human needs.
We have contacted Humans Right Commission of South Africa and the Portfolio Committee of the Local Governance and Traditional Affairs without success. I am looking forward to receiving your positive response
