We trust you are well. We are following up to confirm if the Director General’s Office has concluded reconciling our claim for the above mentioned tender? As it has now been 3 months since the last communication from the Director Generals office (despite us following up every two weeks) and 4 months since we communicated with the Director Generals office.

We once again would like to put it on record that this claim has been with the department for over 10 years for additional works done and authorized by the department of public works in Humansdorp and the department has promised to settle the claim every year for the last 6 years. Every year we are told payment will be made by a certain date but nothing has ever been paid. The department has been furnished with all supporting documents and previously in 2018 it was agreed that the matter will be settled out of court as indicated by the departments legal services section.

It is on record that this delay and us having to borrow money to pay suppliers for the additional works we had done that was authorized by DPW for the above mentioned tender, has resulted in us have to sell our company in the next few weeks. For the past three months we have contacted Ouma Muthambi and sought written confirmation that DPW will finally settle its debt that it’s been owing for the past 10 years and we have not had the courtesy of a reply.

On the 13th July 2024, we were told payment will be made by the 18th July 2024 when we had called the department, as the Director General was in Cape Town and the file was on his desk for signature.

We humbly request written confirmation indicating if the department will pay the amount owing and by when.
