Dear Honorable Minister
I hope this email finds you well during this pandemic .My name is Phiwokuhle Wosiyane I am writing this letter with great frustration .My father and I applied at the Pietermaritzburg home Affairs for my surname (Mchunu to Wosiyane)change previous year January 2020 ,the year I was doing my Matric. On the day of application I received a letter or summary transcript stating my application has been processed ,I have been in and out of the offices to check if the status of my application has been changed as I needed to apply for my I.D in order to write my matric, since then the offices have been unable to help me as they say my application is is in a backlog at Pretoria head office since it was the season of the first wave of Covid-19 .I have been trying to call the service center numerous times I have sent email to the Director of the PMB Home affairs with no luck of help or replied back.My outmost worry is that I need to go to university now and I have firm offers from public universities they all request an i.d amount other documents since I have no directive as to what's next about my application and how or when will this issue be resolved I see my frustrations growing each day.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Phiwokuhle Wosiyane
