My 87 year old mother was taken to Mamelodi Day Hospital with a broken femur on the evening of the 23/04/2018. She has been lying on the stretcher at the casualty ever since her arrival and she was only PROMISED a bed and a ward today on the 25th. There are patients who has been at casualty for more that 5 days.
the doctor to patient ratio is around 1:200.
Can the Minister please make a surprise visit to this hospital with a view of improving service delivery by expanding ward facilities because the parking area and the garden lawn and driveways exceed the sum of total area of all the wards.

Nurses are forever on their chairs with little or no patient care at all.

There are more issues that needs reviewing.
I hope that Honourable minister will take an initiative to address the situation by recomending : (1) Hospital/wards expansion by means of pre fabricated material especially on the unused large car parking space
(2) Increase quota of doctors (3) encourage continuous care by nursing staff .
