Dear Barbara Dallas Creecy, as my MP(I live in Kleinmond, Overstrand) please ask Home Affairs, as my wife and I have waited nearly five years now, to grant her a Spousal Visa and, following on from that, a Permanent Visa for South Africa. Constitutionally:"Given the primacy of marriage and family life in a free and democratic society, no law or administrative rule, whether an immigration law or rule or otherwise, shall deprive a South African citizen of the right to be with their lawful spouse and children in the Republic of South Africa, nor infringe the fundamental right to family life, save for the commission of a serious non-political crime by the spouse or family member." I'm an old COSAWR* returnee from the UK after 39 years away and was not expecting such a cool(old sense!) reception for me and my British wife. As you can see we are no longer spring chickens.. please do this for us, to put an end to the stressful uncertainty. Regards, John Gardiner

*Committee on South African War Resistance, an anti-apartheid - albeit relatively low key - exiles' organisation based in the UK, formed in the 1970s. Voluntary and self-help, getting those refusing conscription into the apartheid SADF sanctuary in the UK and encouraging would-be recruits to follow suit through the publication RESISTER and other campaigning.
As an a Member of Parliament for the ANC, it should be on your radar.
