Dear Sir,
We urgently need to renew my son’s South African passport which expires in OCTOBER 2026.
We are living in Australia as permanent residents and wish to visit South Africa.
We have done an application through VFS in Sydney which was sent through to Pretoria in September 2025, we are now told it could be a year before we get it.
CAn you explain why these expat renewals take so long when renewals in South Africa can be done in a couple of weeks especially as the application is already in Pretoria.
