Hi
Can you please advise as to why South African citizens, who are not born in South Africa, do not receive the benefit of using eHome Affairs?
What is the point of being a citizen if one does not receive the benefits thereof ?? I have been a South African citizen for nearly 40 years, pay more than my fair share of tax (whereas the majority of South African's do not) and now get treated like a second class citizen?
Please advise as this rule is ridiculous given that we have to provide biometric information anyway including submitting our old passports to prove who we are. Home affairs is so backlogged and inefficient as it is that you should be using every avenue to speed up the processing of documentation within your department.
I can understand that first time applicants, not born of this country, should visit home affairs in person but certainly not a citizens who are already in possession of passports.
Please sort this out!
