I have been enquiring on various occasions on the issue of grades at special skills schools, writing emails, but nobody seemed to have an answer.My son was at Mitchells Plain School of Skills.They spent 4 years at the school and exit with a Level 4( not equavalent to SAQA level 4 or matric). He had a learning disability( reading and writing) and attended various remedial programmes and has improved. The problem is applying for a job, especially online where you need to indicate which grade you completed. He has missed several opportunities as a grade 9 or 10 is required. He is not the only one...there are hundreds of the learners in the same boat.So, can you please provide a clear answer on which grade is the skills schools equavalent to. I do not require a letter to say what he has done at the school please.
