Good morning Mr Schreiber
I am a 65 year woman that went to SASSA Kraaifontein this morning. I have ALL the necessary documents required for the old age grant but what a disaster. There were people there that had been sleeping there and also some queuing there from 12 this morning. There was a lady that was applying for a disability grant since May this year, but she was being sent back all the time. There were pensioners there standing in the cold. I have to go to Kraaifontein to apply for the grant even though there is no permanent office and they are only there on Tuesdays. I was told that I would not be helped today as its Disability day today. If and when you get in, you get a number and you go home to come back next week to then be given a date when you must come back again. They only help the people with appointments and about 20 people. The rest get told to go home. How can people that have paid tax their whole life be treated with such disrespect. I thought when you took over things would change but clearly nothing has changed when getting to SASSA. Why can SASSA not be applied for online and then we get told to go into an office with all the required documents.
