Good day
I would like to express my deepest disappointment in the way my re-enlistment was concluded.I went through all the criteria and tests and i had to send pictures of my tattoos on both my upper arms to the Western Cape recruitment office(Lt Col Visser and Warrant Officer(f) Nel).
I did not receive any feedback and had to call last month when they told me that my application back into the SAPS was not recommended due to my tattoos.
I explained to them that i have had my tattoos since before i joined the SAPS back in 2004.It is not visible when wearing uniform but yet my application was not recommended based on this fact.
What bothers me is that there is so alot of SAPS members that has visible tattoos(I know some of them personally) that actually stand parade everyday but yet their commanders do not address this issue and yet my application is rejected based on this
I would like for the Provincial office or National Office to investigate my application please.I am eager to join again but if not successful then i would like an explanation in this regard(something other than my tattoos).
I have pictures with me in a shirt that is equivalent to those worn as SAPS uniform.
Please your feedback would be greatly appreciated.I am currently now in Northern Cape looking for work and if the Western Cape Police does not want me then i would like to apply in the Northern Cape SAPS.....or anywhere in RSA as i am willing to re-locate.
