Good day
I hope this message finds you well.
I am reaching out to request your assistance in providing critical support to higher education institutions in our region mainly CPUT, UWC and Northllnk including the communities. As you may be aware, the departure of USAID has left a significant gap in funding for programs aimed at preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on our campuses.
In the past, organizations like NACOSA have provided invaluable services, including self-defense training, mentoring, and financial literacy programs, all at no cost to students which also included free catering of trained facilitators and food. These initiatives have been instrumental in promoting a culture of safety, empowerment, and well-being among our students.
Regrettably, with the withdrawal of USAID funding, we are no longer able to offer these essential programs to our students. This is why I am turning to your organization for assistance. I believe that you can help us fill this critical gap and ensure that our students continue to receive the support they need to thrive.
Specifically, we are requesting your assistance in providing the following programs and services if possible
- Self-defense training for all students, free of charge
- Mentoring programs, tailored to the needs of our students
- Financial literacy training, to empower students to manage their finances effectively
- Catering and logistical support to ensure that students can participate in these programs without incurring additional costs
I believe that these programs are important to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for every student.
Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to exploring ways in which we can work together to support the students.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any additional information.
Yours Sincerely,
Tokologo Mashabela
