Regular UIF pay-out

Dear Sir,
I lost my job last year in 2020. As I have worked for many decades and paid UIF monthly, I assumed that I could then draw the relevant benefit from UIF. I mean, this is why we pay, right?

Well, wrong! I applied in June last year and have yet to reap any benefit. I even asked the DA shadow minister for Labour, Mr Michael Bagraim, to intervene on my behalf, which he did, twice, but also to no avail.

This leads me to comment that the Values of the Labour Department ( Transparency, Mutual respect, Client-centred services, Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, and Caring for our people) is a lot of hokum and they should be stopped from using this as it is patently not true and is misleading.

Since the UIF is obviously totally non-functional, except perhaps for TERS, I was wondering perhaps whether you could drop me a line explaining what has happened to the regular type UIF? I’ve looked on the UIF fb and there are loads of people in the same boat. I desperately need this financial help, or I would not be asking.

I have documented all my correspondence and phone calls if anyone is interested, and I would be happy to share.

Thank you so much,
Mrs Verna Pycraft
