I would like to raise a serious concern on the continuous harassments .rapes, robberies, assaults, and f burning of cars of residents of Soweto by hostel residence
These heinous crimes have been perpetuated for far too long by hostel residence
And law enforcement agencies and authorities are not doing anything to stop or prevent them from happening.
The situation has gotten out of hand to a point Soweto's residence is now starting to mobilize its community to defend itself against these attacks. And if that starts, there will be no stopping to it till the hostels are shut down.
Police have been contacted and they know about these attacks and they say there is nothing they can do because their hands are tight as they can not shot back when they are shot at.
We humbly appeal to your office to intervene by deploying South African Defence Force as it dit at Cape Town flats. Even sitting up satellite police stations at these hostels.
South Africa have been forced as its citizen to perceive and accept crime as a normal way of living. It's like a NEW NRMAL because there are no consequences on the perpetrators of these crimes
The following hostels are very problematic in order of priority
1.Nancifield Hostel
2.Dube Hostel
3.Jabulani Hostel
4.Diepkloof Hostel
I would also like to remain anonymous as we have seen in the past that criminals have an upper hand and a tendency of silencing the compliant even police officers who investigate these crimes
