Good morning Mr. Steenhuisen

I write to you with a burning question that I hope you can ventilate within the correct spheres as an oversight officer - within the justice portfolio committee and the National Assembly itself.

I am curious whether the Public Protector - currently Adv. Busisiwe Mkwhebane has or will be tendering her resignation shortly?

I along, with all of interested South Africa saw her admit to a crippling inability to hold office. The admission that she is no longer capable of acting "without fear,..." in her own words.

Remaining within the office after this would either mean premeditated 'constitutional delinquency' (not exactly I have my words, borrowed from the EFF) or will actually constitute egregious incompetence, possibly even defeating the ends of justice (I'm not a lawyer, but this seems like a rational inference).

As a well-meaning democrat, I can't simply allow the advocate to continue without bringing this to her attention immediately, as every moment she remains in office so cripplingly incapable of carrying out her duties, is a further indictment on her person and opens her to devastating legal consequences.

I must be at pains to explain the altruism of my actions in this regard. While I hold no real affection or even regard for Adv. Mkwhebane, I believe that as a citizen I cannot allow a fellow to fall foul of the law and every minute that the advocate remains in office is now criminal activity. Criminal activity that the advocate is seemingly unaware of.

As my elected representative, I hope that you will make haste to bring this to the attention of the advocate herself through any upcoming mandated parliamentary oversight interactions and also raise the question of what steps MUST be taken to remove her if she chooses to act as a 'constitutional delinquent' (viz. her inability to fulfill duties "without fear,...") and a self-admitted incompetent office bearer.

(This message is a duplicate of an email I sent, as I am unsure which communication channel you check more often and this is a time sensitive matter. Thank you for your time.)

Future replies will be published here.
