Dear Minister

On the 2nd May 2019 at 10h00 am, we were invited by the Inpection and Enforcement division of your Department to attend a meeting regarding the merits of our proposal to lead a nationwide campaign to collect employee data form workers to help fast track Minimum Wage compliance by employer, and to date we have not heard a response from the chief directorate of your department on the outcome of our proposal.

On the 26th June 2019 we contacted Ms. Zodwa Mbikwana from the office of the Deputy Director General for the heads up regarding the status of our proposal and she since promised to call back to no avail.

Schedule 1 of the National Minimum Wage Act 9 of 2018 is almost approaching the deadline and it would be very sad if the Commission is unable to map a decisive way forward to make adjustments to increase the minimum wage due to the lack of meeting target.

Please help us help vulnerable workers.
