Dear the Honourable Police Minister: Mr. Cele,

Firstly I have the up most respect for you, because since your appointment as Minister of Police, we have witnessed a decline in crime.

But I deem it necessary to inform you, that we South Africans are getting fed-up of living in fear daily, with crime on the uprise once again and getting out of control.

South Africa has seen a rapid decline in the number of dollar millionaires living in South Africa.

Not only does this represent a loss in tax terms, as the rich take their investments and money elsewhere, but it points to what could be a worrisome trend, the exodus of elites before complete economic and social collapse in countries which end up becoming failed states.

The recently published South African Wealth Report for '2020 by New World Wealth, which tracks the global wealth sector, presents a disturbing picture.

Although South Africa remains the biggest wealth market on the African continent, there are signs of the country's richest individuals getting ready to leave the country in droves.

These are mainly due to the political instability as a result of factional battles within the ruling African National Congress, the country's slide into junk status, the absence of economic reform in a sluggish economy, and populist policy choices such as EXPROPRIATION WITHOUT COMPENSATION, amongst all, CRIME IS OUT OF CONTROL, this is all scaring investment away.

I learnt today, that last night at approximately 19h00, a hotel and spa located in Centurion, Gauteng, that the owner and his son were brutally attacked and tortured, and the security guard was shot at- this is a human rights violation.

Our farmers are being brutally attacked and murdered daily- our farmers are an asset and also contribute towards the economy. Without our valued farmers, we will go the same route as Zimbabwe is heading, with the population going hungry and people fleeing for greener pastures.

The honourable Minister Cele, I plead with you kindly, to take action now and rid our country of the perpetrators.

I trust with me bringing the abovementioned to your attention, the necessary action will be taken.

Thanking you kindly in advance,

Keith Thurley.
