Dear
I wish you to assist us with our R5,6m compensation paid by the then Land Affairs in 1994 for the 317 Qadi families, which was received by the local Magistrate and disappeared from there. We have all the documents showing that we the 317 did not get even a cent from this money.
The Dept of Justice has investigated the matter and their forensic report states the money was given to the wrong committee.
We are from KZN in Durban, near Inanda Dam. We were evicted giving way for the construction of the said dam in 1985. The DG Mr Ramasodi have all the copy documents and he has visited our area in trying to assist us with the money but he then vanished, he is even not talking to us. We have visited the two dept offices on a number of times but to no avail.
The previous DGs suggested we should be paid as the money never reached us, we have those copy letters. In 2017, a Memo was prepared for us to get this R5,6m compensation, but was never paid.
We request that the said money be paid to us with interest from 1994 to date by one of the two depts, Justice and Rural Dev and Land Reform.
