Dear Michele, I am someone with medical and business qualifications who believes I have perspectives that can help the DA chart a viable way of amending the current ANC NHI approach. My perspectives are informed by my extensive exposure to the healthcare arena in both the private and public sectors including academia where I conceptualized and drove the establishment of both the Wits Health Consortium and Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre projects for Wits, together with Max Price. Prior to this I was the R&D director of Adcock Ingram. Subsequent to these projects I have committed my life to trying to make quality healthcare more accessible to lower income groups and I am currently involved in a related project with agricultural workers in the Grabouw/Elgin region
Past relevant experience was successfully rolling out a business unit model at an NPC hospital in KZN in 2010 and then driving the functional business unit model for the PGWC in their regional and then academic hospitals.
