Honorable Mr. Gayton McKenzie
Minister of Arts, Culture, and Heritage
Dear Honorable Minister McKenzie,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Mandla Ndumiso Buthelezi, and I am writing to you as the creator of Musicfishbox and a passionate advocate for the arts. I greatly admire your dedication to promoting cultural development and empowering artists in South Africa.
I would like to present to you a proposal for The Zulu Village & Morgan the Bear, a kiddies’ cartoon animation project aimed at educating young children in South Africa. This project promotes respect, basic education, cultural heritage, and local artistic talent. It aligns perfectly with the ministry’s goals of fostering creativity, cultural representation, and community growth.
Key Objectives
1. Provide resources and platforms for emerging artists.
2. Enhance cultural representation and storytelling.
3. Stimulate economic opportunities in the arts sector.
Overview of the Project
The Zulu Village & Morgan the Bear is an educational and entertaining cartoon series where children learn valuable life lessons, including consideration for others, basic educational concepts, and moral values. The series will be available in multiple South African languages, including Zulu, Sotho, English, and Afrikaans, ensuring inclusivity and cultural representation.
Sample episode themes include:
• “No Problem is Too Big for Ra-Pig!”: A fun and engaging lesson on teamwork and overcoming laziness.
• “Morgan the Bear Learns to Care”: Teaching empathy and respect through relatable storytelling.
The series also features exciting educational songs, like the alphabet song, to make learning fun for children.
With a growing audience of 19,000 likes on Facebook, Musicfishbox has already demonstrated significant potential to engage and inspire communities.
Request for Support
To fully realize this project’s potential, I am seeking the Ministry’s support in:
• Funding: To cover production, distribution, and marketing costs.
• Endorsement: To lend credibility and visibility to the initiative.
• Venues and Marketing Opportunities: For screenings, workshops, and promotional events.
About Me
I am a single father who has faced the challenges of unemployment for 16 years. Despite these hardships, I have remained committed to pursuing my passion for music and animation. Every penny I could save has been invested in this project because I believe in its potential to inspire black artists, showcase South African culture, and teach children essential values and skills.
This project is more than a creative endeavor—it’s a heartfelt mission to contribute to South Africa’s arts and culture, inspire ambition among underrepresented artists, and make my children proud.
Conclusion
With your support, this initiative can significantly enhance South Africa’s artistic and educational landscape while creating meaningful opportunities for communities and artists. I would be deeply grateful for the opportunity to discuss this proposal further and explore potential collaborations.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am hopeful for your support in bringing this vision to life.
Yours sincerely,
