Dear Liezl,

I noted your submission of a Private Members Bill that aims to amend the Employment Services Act, 2014 (Act No 4 of 2014), with the intention to regulate the recruitment of foreign nationals in certain economic sectors and to strengthen the current regulatory framework regarding the recruitment of foreign nationals in South Africa.

Our organisation is the social cohesion partner of the UNHCR and IOM missions to South Africa, with a particular focus on KwaZulu-Natal. We aim to reduce xenophobia and foster ubuntu in our country.

I would like to enquire with you the reason for your submission of this Bill, the progress of the Bill, and your intention to further promote this Bill through Parliament.

Thank you,
