I commend you and your team for the work you are doing to clear the backlog and the reforms you are putting in place to streamline operations at DHA.
I am a foreign national; my wife of 9 years and our 2 children (aged 7 and 5) are all RSA citizens and we have been living together since 2017. I have been on successive relatives permits to date.
However my PR application (made in Jan 2022) was rejected last year (July 2023) on grounds of 'application under the wrong category' (27g). I submitted my appeal in August 2023 which is still pending. I am fortunately able to travel in and out of the country thanks to your grace extended to all waiting slip holders. I am hopeful that your office will respond to us by Christmas as you have committed.
