minister, SAPS MUST respond to EVERY complaint!! e.g. i caught my neighbour breaking down my garage walls, to force entry and steal my equipment/tools. I called SAPS, The REFUSED TO come out! Told me i must come down to the station and open a case, 2 hours later, constables were finally available to open a case. The CORRECT procedure is for SPAS to visit the complainant and FILE a REPORT - which is then used to open a case, making it easier to the courts as well, An arrest MUST be executed in aid to charge the perpetrator. THIS IS NOT DONE IN THIS COUNTRY, THATS WHY NOTHING WORKS!! SAPS recommended i apply for a "peace order", so off to courts i went, i was DENIED - RUDELY, as if i was a joke by the officials in Administration - dealing with processes!! This is what the public faces in South Africa's criminal Justice system - its too slow and ineffective to victims of crime - it need to change drastically and super-fast!! Now, imagine, a woman has been assaulted or raped , or a man has been stabbed, SAPS will not respond - they will inform them, "open a case" This is a MONKEY SYSTEM of INJUSTICE!!!!
