Dear Mr. Hunsinger,
We urgently need assistance from someone that can really help. My daughter, Marconette Els (18) is working under contract as an au-pair under the agency Cultural Au-pair, in Kenyon, Minesota, VSA. She received her driver's license, (South African) in February 2025 which was one of the requirements when she applied for this job. She left SA on 16 May 2025 and received a temporary driver's permit. She must apply for her American driver's license now, seeing her permit there will lapse in August.
They do not accept the temporary SA- driver's license permit. They insist on the real card. This will jeopardize her ongoing employment and extension of her contract. Will it be possible to issue an official kind of letter from government, or your department, or liaison with the American Embassy anything just for them to accept her temporary permit? They are rude with my child and laugh at her when she explains that the machine which must press the license card is broken and that our country only have one.....
