Good day
I would like to lay a formal complaint against SGT Makhubela at Protea Glen police station.
I called at around 9:30pm last night 3/12/2020 to ask for assistance that my sister's boyfriend is beating her up at Prote Glen Ext 11 and I was on my way to their house. This lady seemed to not care or see this as an emergency by the way she was responding to me. She first told me there's nothing she can do she sent a patrol car, I asked her to check where they are and she said NO.
I got there before the police and repeatedly called the police station 29 times after that and they only answered twice.
SGT Makhubela hung up on me several times and most of the times they didn't even pick up the phone.
In this country were GBV is such a problem , it's such a shame for a female officer to behave this way when a woman is being attacked. None of them saw this as an emergency and its appalling how they handled this.
I called emergency 112 15 times and Protea glen saps 29 times from 9:30pm till around 10:00pm and the police arrived just after 11pm, WOW!
The police station is about 5k's away from my sister's place I dont understand why would the police take their time isnt GBV a burning issue that needs attention for it to be eradicated?
