Dear Honourable Minister McKenzie,
Minister McKenzie, I acknowledge the achievements of our National Netball Team and our official Proteas Cricket Team as well as the Springboks. Well done and well deserved to all of them!

I would , however, like to bring the plight of our over 50’s Proteas Cricket Team to your attention:

Good day @Minister
McKenzie, I’m copying a link from the over 50 Proteas Cricket Team, they’ve just won the African Cup in Namibia, last month.

My brother Mario Solomons is the captain of the over 50 Proteas Cricket team, what an achievement and long overdue recognition for him and others in his position, who represented and served the game of cricket in South Africa with distinction for the past
30 odd years.

I am however, concerned that the over 50 Proteas Cricket Team, has to fund raise to go to Sri Lanka next year in 2025, representing their country in an official ICC event. My brother, Mario Solomons who is the captain of the squad needs to raise about R80 000 to get to Sri Lanka next year.

We are all well aware of the fact that they are all amateurs and not professionals but they’re representing South Africa in their official capacity.

You have a track record of making things happen Minister. I respectfully request your urgent intervention in ensuring that the over 50’s Proteas Cricket Team is financially supported and able to go to the Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2025.

Regards
Calvyn Solomons concerned cricket fan and brother of Mario Solomons (Proteas over 50’s World Cup Captain)
