Dear Dr. Schreiber my son in law, Jeandre Fourie, is currently on a work visa as a pastor in California, USA. He left South Africa in October 2022. His South African passport was to expire during 2023. He sent it to South Africa via the South African Consulate in Los Angeles. He obviously filled in the re-issue forms etc. He completed all the necessary paperwork at the Embassy. That was in March last year. (2023). He has phoned the Consulate constantly and they have neither given him a reference number nor given him any meaningful update. He is not the only South African in the USA to have this problem as he has joined a forum and there are many South Africans who handed in their passports and have not heard back. Some dating back 3 and 4 years. This meant that they could not vote either. Please might I ask that you look into this. Kindest regards Bev Smith.
