Dear Dr Schreiber

I have applied for a new passport (at DHA Menlyn branch) but cannot log onto the website to determine the status of my application BECAUSE I AM A NATURALIZED CITIZEN.

This is extreme discrimination of a highly qualified, tax-paying resident. I get the impression that we are treated as criminals in OUR COUNTRY OF CHOICE - I CHOSE to become a South African citizen!!!

I am also not able to get a Smart ID card, due to being a naturalized citizen. I refuse to renew my green ID book although it is almost in tatters.

It is high time that this issue is addressed because many of my acquaintances are extremely dissatisfied with this treatment.
