Dear Minister

As a parent we are extremely concerned about the fact that our children are being forced to attend school as if they are immune yet many parents are still unable to go back to work due to COVID-19. It's now been proven that children do actually die of this virus. You have two options 1. Just allow all the children to move to the next grade or 2. Children are given Assignments and Assessments to do at home and based on that they will be promoted or stay in the same grade. Yes it's a struggle for many parents who do not have internet access or a cellphone so that's why you need to put a system in place for those who do not have access to internet and those who do have access to a cellphone or PC data should be free, force these huge Network companies to come to the party who even in a crisis like this are still exploiting our people with the data costs and offer free data, but to throw out children out there and as a parent to trust that a Teacher and Assistant will be able to look after 30-45 sometimes 50 learners while applying social distancing, checking if children are wearing masks etc is impossible. I can not wear a mask for a single hour at a time without struggling to breathe. What more children? I think Government needs to really start applying logic to their rules and recommendations surrounding COVID-19.
