Open Letter To Minister Naledi Pandor
Dear Minister Pandor
I write this letter to you on the second day of the Jewish Passover. As a South African Jew, born and bred in this country some 66 years ago, I felt it necessary to air my concerns with you.
Since you and your colleagues took it upon yourselves to take sides with the Palestinians and ostracize the State of Israel, and with it the Jewish people of our country, I would like you to be aware how your actions have affected the Jewish Nation as a whole.
I run a small tour company in South Africa, specializing in safaris that includes the jewel of our country, namely The Kruger Park.
Many of my guests are from Israel and the Jewish Diaspora around the world as I offer a unique product being Kosher Safaris.
Since your decision to enter the legal battle between South Africa and Israel began, we have lost the services of the Israeli Airline, El Al thus making it difficult to travel between our countries.
My Company’s marketing efforts to entice new and regular visitors back to South Africa has also since dried up. The most common response I get from them is,
“Why should we come to South Africa? You don’t like us” (Israelis and Jews)
“We have decided to take our holidays elsewhere this year.”
Just when we were beginning to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel that was Covid -19, and what was once a thriving world tourist destination, has now become the pariah of the world.
Minister Pandor I am appalled at the attitude and stance that you and Government have taken when you should rather be concerned with the atrocities happening in your own back yard.
Roll on May 29th when perhaps the People of this wonderful country will see your true colours and vote with their conscience.
