Dear Dr Louis Schreiber. I need to renew my South African Passport and am told to make an online appointment. I go to the necessary website to set up a profile to get to the point to register and ai am told this is only for people born in South Africa. So how can I make an online booking for a new passport. Yes, I was born outside the country in 1963 when my parents were on business and came with them when they returned to South Africa when Ibwas 6 months old. This means I can't get the ID card either. This makes life difficult as we want to go on holiday and I have to go and stand in a long queue because I was born outside the country. Why should my place of birth stop me from just creating a profile and then allow me to make an appointment to renew my South African Passport. Surely this could be looked at.
