Objection to removing the biodiversity offset for the Kropz phosphate mine

Hereby my strenuous objection to the reported plan of the  DMRE to remove the condition requiring a biodiversity offset for the Kropz phosphate mine on the border of the West Coast National Park and Langebaan lagoon Ramsar site.

The critically endangered Strandveld ecosystems have to be protected, even against those seeking profit (above all). If you allow this to go ahead, I can only hope that a journalist will find out whether any politically persons benefited from this flawed decision. If/when they do, I will be among the chorus of voices trumpetting it from the hills.
