I took my 18 year old son over the IEC registration weekend to Laerskool Die President in Fishers Hill, Germiston to register to vote. They scanned his ID card and informed us to wait for the confirmation via sms that he is registered. I have been checking his voter status since then EVERY day on the IEC's website and I get the same message every time. "You are not registered. If you have applied recently, check again in 24 hours as we are still busy processing registrations". I just checked it again today 07/10/2021 and still the same result. I have also registered a complaint on their website regarding this about a week ago and I have not even received an acknowledgement of my complaint being received. Is the IEC deliberately keeping new voters off the roll to deny them their right to vote??
