Dear Minister Moloi
Dear Minister Nxesi
If media reports are anything to go by, public servants will commence with labour action next week and we have an urgent issue to be resolved/ finalised before then?
The below email (in addition to numerous similar emails to the Commissioner, DG, Board, Senior Managers and staff of UIF and DEL) and which nobody at UIF and/ or DEL even had the decency to acknowledge receipt, clearly spells out our challenges and concerns regarding the administration of UIF.
As indicated, the claim for Mrs Willemse (75 years old) has been outstanding for 420 days and has now been stuck with the paymaster for 25 working days! I think this is completely unfair and unacceptable and to make matters worse, the Commissioner and DG and Senior Management is NOT doing anything to address or resolve the issue.
I realise that you may be very busy in trying to avert a public servants strike, but I implore you to please intervene with UIF (specifically the paymaster) to get the claim of Mrs Willemse paid as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance.
Regards
Retief le Roux

Mr Maruping
I am convinced that you will once again ignore this communication just like you did with all similar communication since 1 August 2022!
I nonetheless, once again, submit this complaint mainly for two reasons namely:
1. That your colleagues are also brought up to date regarding non compliance to legislation, non payment of valid and legitimate applications, dereliction of duty and the lack of consequences for the said issues within UIF; and
2. That you can't say "I did not know" when we meet in court.
For the record:
My wife sold her business in August 2021 due to COVID-19 and her deteriorating health. As a direct result she and her one employee became unemployed. On 1 September 2021 both submitted complete applications for UI benefits since both were contributing to UIF for more than 9 years. When, by the end of August this year we have not had any feedback from UIF nor has there been any payment I followed up with you and the Accounting Officer and the Office of Minister Nxesi. First Thomas Rathanya claimed that my wife's start date and end date are the same? After explaining/ showing that the end date was incorrectly captured by UIF, Mawethu Zigana then indicated that my wife can't retrench herself?
Despite these and various other challenges, payment to my wife was eventually processed on 5 October 2022 - MORE THAN 13 MONTHS AFTER THE APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED TO UIF!
The claim for the other person, Mrs M M Willemse has, however, still NOT BEEN PAID! As a matter of fact, and as you are fully aware, the application of Mrs Willemse has been stuck with the paymaster since 09:48 on 20 September 2022 - THAT IS 23 WORK DAYS!!!!!!
As indicated above, I DON'T EXPECT ANY REACTION FROM YOU OR THE UI STAFF MEMBERS WHO HAVE ALL ALONG BEEN IGNORING YOUR REQUESTS AND INSTRUCTION, but just know that we are continuing with legal action against yourself and the Director General (we will also be asking the courts to make personal costs orders against the two of you so that you don't waste any tax payers money on defending your inaction and dereliction of duty). In addition this issue and especially the issues around non-compliance with legislation, dereliction of duty and lack of consequence management has been reported to the Public Protector who is investigating, the Presidential Hotline (Mr Robert Nkuna confirmed that they are looking into the issue), the Office of the Public Service Commission (Mrs Dinkie Dube confirmed they are looking into the issue), the Office of the Auditor General and the Human Right
