Your Excellency, a business, Merino Motors, consisting of a fuel station, restaurant and liquor store owned by Josef and Andries Fourie had a staff member and Josef Fourie test positive for Covid. Both went into self isolation. BUT, none of the other staff who had contact with these 2 persons were tested, the staff continue to work, the businesses were not closed to desanitize. These businesses carry a high volume of clients, many not wearing masks. URGENT ACTION need be taken as the conduct of the owners by continuing to do business, whilst none of the other staff, who are in contact with the public daily is endangering South Africa. One of the covid positive owners , Josef Fourie, is daily visiting his businesses without a mask even though he is still under quarantine. We implore Your Excellency, Minister Cele, to take strong action against the Fourie owners, who blatantly ignore the law and make a mockery of government Covid regulations, and spreading the scourge of Covid through their irresponsible and arrogant conduct.
