Dear Minister Motsoaledi

My son turned 16 last year June and I applied for his ID document.
It is a year later and we still don’t have his ID document.
I am being told that the ID application is “stuck in the system”. It was escalated to level 3 months ago but still no ID document.
All supporting documents were submitted so there is nothing outstanding from our side.
I phone home affairs in Pretoria every week to check on an update. I even asked them to delete the application so that we can start a new application but was told they can not do that.

What must we do now?
My only hope is coming to you direct… maybe you are able to help us?
