Dear Ashley !Qhoeke Sauls,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inquire whether the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) falls under the oversight of your committee in the National Assembly.

Additionally, I seek your assistance in addressing critical issues faced by students due to inefficiencies in NSFAS funding disbursements.

It has come to my attention that numerous students, including my neighbor, have experienced significant challenges with NSFAS. Many have either received only partial funding or, in some cases, no funding at all. These delays and shortfalls have had devastating consequences, forcing some students to drop out of their academic programs, seek informal employment, or, in extreme cases, struggle to return to their homes due to financial constraints.

My neighbor, a former student at the University of the Witwatersrand, is among those unable to complete her studies due to these issues.

I kindly request your guidance on how these systemic challenges at NSFAS can be addressed to ensure that deserving students receive timely and adequate financial support. If this matter falls within your committee’s jurisdiction, I would greatly appreciate any steps you could take to advocate for affected students.

Alternatively, please advise on the appropriate channels through which to escalate this concern.

Thank you for your time and dedication to serving the people of South Africa.

I look forward to your response and any assistance you can provide.

Yours sincerely
