Dear Minister,

When you were appointed head of Home Affairs I expected some innovation and action. Sadly, this is not so. Let me highlight just a few issues:
1. Your website is an absolute joke and looks like something designed by a child using Microsoft Word.
2. The site creaks along, fails to load, or simply dies. Minister, have you actually tried creating a profile on the site? And have you tried booking an appointment? I am sure that you haven't. Otherwise you would have fixed it by now ( now please don't spend billions on doing this).
3. Every few months a press release appears (usually on MyBroadband) boasting about some new "bank branch" that has been opened. It's just spin because I have battled for three months to book an appointment at your bank branch at Canal Walk, Milnerton, Cape Town. NO appointments are available! None.
4. BTW have you recently visited a Cape Town branch of Home Affairs? It's a mess. Someone even rents out chairs by the hour! Why does it have to be like this?
5. Mr Minister, I don't understand how/why you allowed things like the above to continue. You have travelled the world, are a learned person -- and, yet, you do not appear to notice the disaster that is Home Affairs.
6. Please, Mr Minister, visit www.dha.gov.za today and try and renew your passport (when the website is not offline).
